SP Arts Fiesta 2018
An initiative of Arts@SP, the Arts Fiesta was conceived in 2011, as a platform for aspiring artists from Singapore Polytechnic to showcase their works. It is an annual, month-long celebration of dance, music and theatre. The fiesta showcases performances
of different genres from contemporary jazz to classical Chinese orchestral music, workshops related to the arts and talent showcases.
A team of Diploma in integrated Events & Project Management (DEPM) students were tasked to plan
and organise the opening roadshow which included creating and making props and organising games for the roadshow. Some examples of props included giant-sized country erasers and an arts themed twister mats and dice.
The team brainstormed
and sourced for various vendors for the workshops to be conducted. They also promoted SP Arts Fiesta on various social media platforms, designing posters for the workshops and opening roadshow, photos and videos to be posted on social media for publicity.
In addition, they liaised with the various Co-Curricular Activity (CCA) Clubs for the various productions, and managed the front-of-house activities ranging from ticketing, ushering, setting up the games area to giving out the festival brochure
and programme booklets. The Arts Fiesta project immersed the students with insights and experience, broadening their appreciation and scope to manage arts events.
